Design Engineer
Per the job description that is shown below, there is an opening for a Design Engineer reporting to the Director New Product Development & Controls or Lead Engineer. Responsible for resolving design related issues that occur through active participation in satisfying internal and external customer expectations. Responsible for design and modifications to existing products, implementation of new products, change orders, and monitoring of customer field service problems.
Establish design requirements through continuous examination of customer expectations.
Develop new products to competitively meet current and future customer requirements.
Facilitate resolution of production and field service problems as identified on all unit products. Coordinate information feedback to the appropriate departments.
Develop and participate in new product deployment teams. Bring new products from design to market in a minimal time frame at the optimal cost.
Design, implement and maintain records of product and component testing.
Implement product improvement activities to review designs, customer needs and manufacturing costs on all unit products. Measure cost savings and customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis to determine the success of each product.
Develop and participate in continuous improvement teams.
Participate as an active member in the research and development of new designs for associated products.
Coordinate, track and prioritize business unit change orders and change requests.

Maintain a database of reports of competitor product problems, advantages, performance and customer satisfaction.
Perform other related duties as required.
CONTACTS (Internal and External):
Heavy contact with unit operations personnel, design personnel, shop employees, print and CAD maintenance, product management, sales, customer service representatives, and quality functions. Customer interface will include written, phone, and on-site visitation. Moderate telephone, letter, e-mail or personal contact outside of the company with vendors and suppliers.
Education: Skills and abilities consistent with a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), or commensurate experience. EIT qualification a plus.
Abilities: Must be "hands-on" oriented and be able to work independently or as a team member. Must have a basic understanding of metal fabrication techniques, the strength of materials, CADS, and high volume manufacturing design requirements. Must have solid personal computer skills. Evaluation, originality, and ingenuity required.
Experience: 2-5 years experience in a progressive, customer oriented, metal fabrication environment.
Supervision: Works under the general supervision of the respective Engineering Manager.
Responsibility: Exercise substantial degree of judgment. Work as a leader or team member in various team-related design efforts. Responsible for project scheduling, completion, and costs. Results and effectiveness of assigned projects and responsibilities are subject to examination and review. Questionable matters affecting the overall unit operation or situations affecting other operations referred to Supervisor.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
