Madison, IN Madison, IN Full-time Full-time $22 - $26 an hour $22 - $26 an hour Position Summary This position ensures all aspects of our steel slitting line are running smoothly in a safe and productive manner.
Technical support position duties include label creation, inventory movement, equipment operation, manufacturing order management, and technical slitter support.

Roles/
Responsibilities:
Leading technical support activity for the slitter Supporting a team of 4 people - including as a back-up for each position Understand slitter capabilities and maximize efficiency Use Infor MRP system to print labels and move steel coils to maintain correct inventory Read production schedule and Manufacturing Orders and support running decisions based on deadlines and maximizing line efficiencies.
Learn and understand each position of the Slitter- including material handling, head building, and operator positions.
Develop skillset to act as fill-in when needed for any position.
Learn our Steel Receiving process, including operation of large forklifts for unloading steel coils and the Infor Receiving Process.
Ensuring quality procedures are followed- including identifying steel defects to ensure proper mill communication.
Managing rejected and/or quarantined material and getting them processed in a timely manner.
Manage consumable inventory and ensure inventory stays acceptably stocked.
Manage tooling to ensure it's sent out and maintained as needed.
Develop and support continuous improvement ideas and projects Continual lifting and pushing throughout shift may be required 10-50 Lbs (team lifting required for over 50lbs) Maintain a safe and clean work area Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Strong problem solver with an eye for detail and an analytical mind.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position (5:
